The Dominion at a glance

The Dominion is a Java Edition Minecraft server offering a hybrid experience that blends an SMP-style world for building and classic gameplay with a separate custom-built RPG area. It features an economy system, mcMMO, PvP, roleplay elements, and survival gameplay, all within a fantasy-themed, highly explorable map that includes unique dungeons and loot.

Players explore both the open-world map and the RPG world, taking part in dungeon delves and combat, while earning in-game currency and leveling skills through mcMMO. The server invites players to participate in ongoing development during its Alpha phase, with new content and improvements released over time.

The Dominion operates from the United States and supports Java Edition version 1.20.2. It has a Discord community for players to connect, share tips, and coordinate events. To join, connect with the join address thedominion.us on Java Edition, and explore the world, the RPG dungeon locales, and the evolving gameplay.

Overview written by MinecraftRanking from the server's public information (updated 2026-10-25), with AI assistance.

In the server's own words

The Dominion (circa 2013) is a unique Minecraft RPG experience, featuring a hybrid server type of an SMP world for building and classic Minecraft fun, as well as a separate custom built RPG world; complete with a fantasy aesthetic, a highly explorable map, and several unique and increasingly challenging dungeons (with 100% unique loot, of course). While the server is still in its Alpha state, and players are encouraged to help us debug and work out general gameplay shortcomings, the server is fully playable and new content is constantly being worked on and released.
