Grand Civitas at a glance

Grand Civitas is a Java Edition Minecraft server focused on geopolitics, town-building, and an RPG progression system. Players can engage in Towny-style land claiming and nation-building, while also exploring RuneScape-inspired skills, a living lore, and NPC-driven storytelling. The server emphasizes a player-driven economy where gold-backed currency and the Grand Exchange shape trading, inflation, and daily life in a persistent world.

Players actually participate by founding towns, forming nations, forging alliances, and voting on server-wide issues through a United Nations-style governance system. The world includes deep lore, NPCs, and quests that reward grinding and skill development rather than pay-to-win mechanics. Optional strict roleplay allows for focused storytelling, but players can also engage in more casual roleplay within the same geopolitical framework.

The server is Germany-based, supports crossplay between Java and Bedrock, and runs on Java Edition with a current version tag of 26.2. It operates with no resets, no pay-to-win dynamics, and active staff to uphold fair play. To join, use its join address: mmp.grandcivitas.com. Its website hosts server information, lore, and governance details for those who want to dive into the world before or after connecting.

Its world is built around custom towns and nations, a living economy, and a layered RPG experience inspired by RuneScape, inviting players to grind, rise, and rule within a shared, evolving history. Events, politics, and resource disputes are driven by real player decisions in a dynamic setting that rewards contribution and strategic thinking.

In the server's own words

Grand Civitas is a geopolitical roleplay and RPG server set in a hand-crafted fictional world with deep lore, and a living history written entirely by its players.

Found a town. Claim land. Build a nation. Forge alliances, wage wars, and shape the political landscape through our custom-built towns and nations system. Towns and nations hold real political power, the United Nations votes on server issues and steers the direction of the world.

But Grand Civitas is more than politics. Inspired by RuneScape, we're building a layered RPG experience: progress through an extensive skills system, interact with living world NPCs, uncover lore hidden across the map, and earn your place through grinding, not paying.

The economy is player-driven and gold-backed, every coin in circulation was mined by a real player. Trade through the Grand Exchange, set up chest shops, or rent a stall in the server mall. Economic decisions have real consequences, including inflation.

- Custom towns & nations (geopolitics) - RuneScape-inspired skills & progression - Fictional world with deep lore & NPCs - Optional strict roleplay, play your way - Gold-backed player economy with inflation - No resets, your legacy is permanent - No pay to win - Java & Bedrock crossplay - Active staff & fair play enforcement

Kingdoms are built, alliances are forged, and empires fall, all driven by real players, real decisions, real consequences.
