Skybound Minecraft server

Skybound is a Java Edition Minecraft server focused on survival with a strong emphasis on social play and faction-based competition. It blends economy systems with faction warfare, PvP, and roleplay elements, all within a custom floating island world rather than the vanilla overworld. The server supports version 1.20.1 and is designed for Java Edition players, offering a distinct sky-island experience that guides how players build, ally, and contend for control.

In Skybound, players start or join a faction and engage in conquest-style play around four Quarries scattered across the map. Conquering a Quarry can grant access to resources, with the amount and availability influenced by nearby zones and powers. The surrounding “unclaimed territory” zones allow griefing and sabotage, creating dynamic flashpoints and strategic risk for those attempting to claim or defend quarries.

The server is described as a platform for cooperative and competitive play, appealing to players who enjoy economy-driven progression, strategic territory control, and roleplay within a PvP-enabled environment. It suits players who like building rivalries, coordinating with faction mates, and navigating a custom map generated around floating islands rather than standard biomes.

To join, players can connect using the join address skybound-official.duckdns.org:25566. The server also maintains a Discord community for players to coordinate, share updates, and discuss events, with its website providing further information on the Skybound experience.
