Explorers of Doran at a glance

Explorers of Doran is a Java Edition Minecraft server set in a medieval fantasy world with a focus on serious roleplay, economy, and RPG-style gameplay. The server runs on version 1.21.1 and embraces a modified D&D-inspired combat and exploration system, offering both Adventurer (with stats and rolls) and Citizen (no-stats, casual RP) play styles. This creates a structured, lore-rich experience for players who want depth in character progression and worldbuilding.

Players live in the Continent of Doran, a land of Humans, Elves, Dwarves and Orcs, with intricate lore and environmental variety. The map is custom-made, and the in-game narrative centers on political tension, trade routes, resource gathering, and perilous exploration. Text-based roleplay is the primary mode of interaction, and the 18+ rule emphasizes mature storytelling and atmosphere.

The server is US-based and supports a Discord community for coordination and socializing outside of Minecraft sessions. It targets players who enjoy immersive, lore-heavy RP with a classic fantasy vibe and a structured ruleset that supports both more intense, stat-based play and more relaxed roleplay. In the server's own words

Explorers of Doran is an 18+ server using a modified D&D system for combat and exploration.

The map is custom made as is the lore and the system we use is a modified version of the 5e D&D that was modified by our staff.

We have roles for those that wish to play as an Adventurer with stats and rolls while also having a role for Citizens for those that wish to have a more casual experience with no stats and simply roleplaying.

The Continent of Doran The year is 982 A.E.

The nations on Doran are in bitter resentment for years of territorial struggle and resource gathering. As sea monsters dissuade most from trying to flee, they are stuck and are forced to try and negotiate what they can from each other. So far, the only main civilized races that have surfaced are the Humans, Elves, Dwarves and Orcs. There are varying environments within the continent, high reaching mountains, long winding deserts, sprawling plains, thick forests and freezing tundras. Each place has its own value and worth as minerals are plenty in some places and food is found in others, thus every day in most places requires trade or fighting to survive.
