parole at a glance

parole is a prison escape Minecraft server focused on roleplay and a custom economy. It combines prison gameplay with PvP elements and RPG-style progression, offering a themed experience where players start in the cell block and work toward breaking out while avoiding guards. The server’s described gameplay emphasizes hand-to-hand survival, contraband, and gang-style play within a structured prison economy.

players on parole actually perform tasks to move the story forward: taking a job at the Job Office to earn chocolate (the prison currency), sourcing contraband from dealers, crafting escape tools and weapons, and coordinating with a gang to raid and outmaneuver guard patrols. Escapes are accomplished by breaking iron bars or digging through walls, and success is measured when a fugitive reaches a designated town. As fugitives, players earn golden chocolate while guards attempt to recapture them, creating a tense cat-and-mouse dynamic.

parole is built for Java Edition players and lists its versioning and address in its public materials. The join address is mmp.parole.rocks, and the server notes support for Java Edition with a focus on 1.21.x and later-style gameplay. Players can connect via its Discord community and explore its store for in-game items, with the server’s own description underscoring a season-based escape theme and gang-building opportunities. Its website and its Discord provide the primary routes for joining and community activity.

In the server's own words

parole is a prison escape server. You start as a prisoner in the cell block, and your goal is to break out without the guards catching you.

Work for Chocolate: Take a job at the Job Office and earn chocolate, the prison currency.

Contraband and Crafting: Spend your chocolate at the dealers on contraband like timber, sheets of metal, files and duct tape, then craft escape tools and weapons. Keep it out of sight: guards watch your hands, and contraband detectors guard the gates.

Break Out: Cut through iron bars or dig through walls where no guard can see you, and find your own way out. Your escape counts once you reach a fugitive town.

Life on the Run: As a fugitive you earn golden chocolate while the guards hunt you down.

Guards vs Prisoners: Guards enforce the daily routine, from meals and showers to lights out, when every prisoner must be back in their cell, and they call lockdowns when things get out of hand.

Gangs: Team up with other inmates, stash your loot in the gang vault and climb the gang leaderboards.
